The Christmas Sweater

A young boy learns why some gifts will be forgotten soon after the Christmas decorations are put away while others will be cherished for a lifetime in The Christmas Sweater, a wonderful heartfelt picture-book adaptation of Glenn Beck’s bestselling novel of the same name.

Eddie is less than thrilled when he discovers that he’s getting a boring, scratchy, handmade sweater for Christmas instead of the shiny new bike he’s been begging his parents for all year long—that is, until his Grandpa takes him on a magical journey to discover the true meaning of Christmas. Suddenly, the bike doesn’t seem anywhere near as important as enjoying what truly matters. This is a book about family and love to share with those you love most. (Ages 4-6)

Learning to appreciate
February 21, 2010

This book reveals a warm and tender way of teaching children to appreciate the things they receive and to show appreciation for them. The magic is the love that is felt afterwards.

My students loved this story. We added our own bits as each child related his/her own understanding of the book.

My favorite book to give
January 20, 2010

I bought this book because I am an avid knitter and love to surprise people with one of my hand made items. Now that I am a grandmother of two little girls, this book is especially great. Remember each stitch is a symbol of love. Glenn Beck knows this! Amazing!!!

Wonderful addition to the Christmas Season reading
January 20, 2010

I had purchased the adult version of this book and was so happy to see it in a children's version. My grandson is still an infant and as he grows this is one story that will be read each Christmas season and throughout the year. What a great message.
