From today’s most celebrated storyteller Danielle Steel comes a heartwarming story about liking who you are, just the way you are—for kids! It’s not easy being green, especially when you’re a hippo and you’re supposed to be gray. Unfortunately for Greenie, a big, bright green hippo, everyone at the circus thinks he’s just too different. So Greenie sets out on a journey to fit in and winds up in New York City. Just when it seems as though Greenie will never find a true friend, a boy named Charlie comes into his life. Will Charlie and Greenie become friends? Thank goodness we don’t live in a cookie- cutter world! With joyous illustrations by Margaret Spengler, The Happiest Hippo in the World celebrates what makes us unique! (Ages 4-6)

I run a Daycare, and I bought this book for my Daycare Children. We read it in Circle Time. They enjoyed it. I felt that it was perfect for explaining to children how we are different and to not be affraid of being different.
Again loved this book

I bought this book for my daughters both which enjoyed the book very much. It is a cute story. I like this book for it's big and colorful illustrations, it was very appealing to my children. This book is also a book which, I feel that, many children could relate to.

I bought this book for my grandchild who is mildly autistic. It helps to see differences can be good. Hippos are also his favorite animal at the zoo.

I really enjoyed this book. There are so many children out in the world that feel inferior and feel that something must be wrong with them. This book shows that even if we're not the right color, we're still just as important as anyone else. It's a great book for all children to read and maybe even a few grown-ups. We can learn something from it. I also like the author very well. Her books are all very good. I haven't read a really bad one yet.
