I originally picked up this book Christmas morning, when another family member received it as a gift. I couldn't put it down!
The way it is written is through the eyes of a young boy stuck in the middle of being a "kid" and being a "teen". His perspective on such things as work, money and girls are approached with a whimsical and humorous eye.
Jeff Kinney seems to have a great sense of what it's like inside the mind of restless youth that still has it's wonderful innocence. Well done, easy read, no matter if you are young or old!

My 9 yr old son began reading these books about a year ago. He has the complete series, including the do it yourself book. Before Wimpy Kid, he didn't like to read for pleasure or write. When he's bored he picks up a book & also asks me to read them out loud with him. Hilarious series.
