Olivia is so excited when she finds out that her class is putting on a special play, especially because she is sure she’ll be the star of the show. But instead of landing the lead role, she is assigned the role of “Cow Number 2” and has only one line in the whole play: “Moo!” Nevertheless, she’s determined to figure out a way to make the moo-st of her bit part—and, boy, does she ever!
With her penchant for turning lemons into lemonade, this beloved storybook character (and star of the popular Nick. Jr.® television series, to boot!) manages to secure her place in the spotlight after all. What’s more, Olivia™ Acts Out comes with some neat bells and whistles, including a soft and velvety spine! My daughter thought it was a cute book because her friend gets stage frieight and Olivia saves the play.

This book is good- it is funny and cute and the colors really pop but it is very different from the original Olivia series. It is taken from the cartoon series so if you are a fan, you will like this too. It is longer and more complicated than the other books so my 3 yr old can't quite follow the subtle humor, but she loves the pictures.

I had thought it a little odd that this Olivia book was by different authors--when I received the book, well, duh, that's why! Story/art is based on the TV show character. Nothing wrong with the show, but there is something about the Olivia books written by Falconer that give it a special quality. My daughter loves the Falconer books she has, this one she hasn't really touched so much. Oh well.

we have all the ian falconer "olivia" books and i had hoped that this one would be much the same. we were disappointed to see that it is basically like the tv show, which we love, but not of the ian falconer style. the books is good and the kids love it, but we want more ian falconer! i will not buy any more of these books that are like the tv show if they come out with more.

My grandaughter is 7 years old. I sent her the book as a present. She informed me that is was a "baby book" and that she was far more advanced than that. I did not get the opportunity to read it myself, maybe I will do that next time.
