Like Martin Luther King and John F. Kennedy, President Barack Obama has inspired millions of people around the world with his powerful message of change. Now you can inspire your child with this beautiful portrayal of the life and career of the “skinny man with the funny name” who is our nation’s first African-American president!
Even when President Obama was just a kid, he knew that he wanted to help people to improve their lives. Award-winning author Nikki Grimes and Caldecott-winning illustrator Bryan Collier take us from Obama’s childhood, when everyone he knew called him Barry, all the way to the not so distant past where he challenged us all to work together as one to make America better.
