Like Martin Luther King and John F. Kennedy, President Barack Obama has inspired millions of people around the world with his powerful message of change. Now you can inspire your child with this beautiful portrayal of the life and career of the “skinny man with the funny name” who is our nation’s first African-American president!
Even when President Obama was just a kid, he knew that he wanted to help people to improve their lives. Award-winning author Nikki Grimes and Caldecott-winning illustrator Bryan Collier take us from Obama’s childhood, when everyone he knew called him Barry, all the way to the not so distant past where he challenged us all to work together as one to make America better. The 'Messiah' like cover is not made out to represent God, or Jesus, it is made out to represent rays of hope....chill out..perhaps you need a little more religion in your life, or a change of churches. Religion is supposed to bring love, not criticism, fear, or hate.

No other president cares as Barack does, he reaches out to our youth and touches them like no other president cared to do before him, I am truly inspired. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!! All of these parents need to stop using their own opinions against this president and teaching thier children all of this hate, that is what is wrong with the world and what is in need of repair as is, allow your child to be inspired by this wonderful president who is trying to reach out to them and STOP the HATE!!
