Don't Bump the Glump!

While Shel Silverstein was planting The Giving Tree in our hearts and long before he took us to Where the Sidewalk Ends and switched on A Light in the Attic, he tickled our funnybones with a menagerie of most unusual creatures in Don’t Bump the Glump! and Other Fantasies. But just like the elusive Zumbies, the beloved poet’s very first collection of poetry was almost impossible to find—until now, that is. After more than three decades, the author’s only full-color poetry collection is back—and its ink and watercolor illustrations are absolutely marvelous! This is a must-have for every Silverstein fan. After all, where else are you going to find the Wild Gazite, the Flying Festoon, and the Squishy Squashy Staggitall? (All ages)

Loved it!

I really liked this one! While "The Giving Tree" is my favorite, it's kinda sad too. This one is all goofiness and fun!! I'll be sharing it with the kindergarten class where I volunteer and can hear their peels of laughter already!

Not as good as others

This book was cute, and we enjoyed it...but it wasn't as good as other Shel Silverstein books

? This needs to be in an older age group

It was not at all what I was expecting. Not a story or rhymes that I want to read to little kids.. This one is now in the garage for things to go to goodwill.. what a shame and a waste of money.

This was the worst book that I've ever purchased. No one of my family of 5 even remotely liked it.

Monsters
October 06, 2008

My 4 year old daughter didn't seem very interested in this one and hasn't asked to read it again. I thought it seemed it could be a little scary to one too young, especially right before bedtime. I wasn't altogether thrilled with it.
