The message in the book was very good, but I was disappointed. Now that I see the age recommendations I think I may have bought this book too soon for my grandchildren (ages 2 & 3). The illustrations are black and white drawing and the words didn't hold their attention. I'll revist this book with them in another year or two to see if they like it better.

I accidently happened upon this book and I am so greatful I did. I absolutely love it! I teach 4-6 Special Ed students and use it as part of my teaching manners/to behave when they are mainstreamed out into Reg. Ed classes. I only do a couple of pages and we review what we have read. We have been in school since Aug. and I haven't even gotten through the whole book. On my teacher bulletin board I even put the words "Be honest, fair, strong, wise" as our classroom motto. It is an absolute must have if you ask me!

This book is pretty long, but is my 4 year old son's favorite bedtime story. He proudly declares to kids who are acting up "You have be be Honest, Fair, Strong and Wise" and makes me so proud. :)
Those who don't understand why the word stupid is used, maybe are too stupid themselves. ?

The beginning of the book takes a long time to get to the point. The pictures are decent but doesn't show enough. Personally I wouldn't recommend it. My Son got bored of it really fast.
