I did not have the pleasure of reading these books as a child like I see so many have. It looked kind of strange but the reviews were great to I ordered this book and the giving tree. My 5 year old son and I are absolutely obsessed with Shel Silverstein now! These books are great! We roll on the ground laughing at some of the poems... they also spark some quite lengthly discussions! Absolutely recommend!!!

Ickle Me, Pickle Me, Tickle Me too...It's Dark in Here...and Boa Constrictor..Oh the childhood memories this book brings back, of poems that reach beyond the imagination to depths of the unknown. My children didn't really understand them, but come to think of it at their age; neither did I. I just laughed at the pictures and the excitement that my teacher's put into the voices. It's an amazing book! Shel does amazing work..he inspires the inner poet in all of us to reach beyond the 'norm'.

My 17 year old niece was watching my 3 boys and came across this book in their library. She read to them from it all night long! She has asked for a copy for Christmas, along with the other Silverstein books! Any book that can even get a grumpy teenager excited about reading, belongs in EVERYONE'S home!
