Excellent story about a lesson everyone needs to learn!

I believe this is an excellent book that helps children learn that our appearences are not what matters. If we are kind and sharing, that is all that we need to be able to make freinds and be happy! My boys love the illustrations and the story! I recommend this book to everyone.

i realize there is a lesson that is trying to be taught at the end, but most of the story emphasizes physical appearance as a basis for friendship and self-worth, and those are lessons i don't wish to teach my young daughter.

My 5-year old daughter loves this book, and I love reading it to her! It teaches a very valuable lesson and gives children a great example in sharing. By doing so made Rainbow Fish as well as all the other fish HAPPY.
