Rufus Butler Seder
Rufus Butler Seder books are a celebration of his groundbreaking invention “Lifetiles,” the glass-tiled murals that seemingly come to life whenever a viewer walks by. The basis for the picture books in his Scanimotion series, these exceptionally clever illusions have been installed at the Smithsonian, Sea World, Union Station and various museums, aquariums and train stations around the world. He also founded Eye Think, Inc., a fabulous company that produces a line of toys for children incorporating the many technologies he’s invented.
There are four Rufus Butler Seder books in all, including the bestselling picture books Gallop! (about animals) and Swing! (about baseball), both published in 2008. These celebrated books for children both feature Seder’s cutting-edge animations, and have proven exceedingly popular among toddlers and adults alike.
Those picture books were followed by 2009’s Waddle!, another object lesson about animals, and 2010’s popular Star Wars: A Scanimation Book, which brought the story of Luke and Darth Vader to life in a seriously exciting way.
Rufus Butler Seder currently lives in Boston, where he’s conceiving new books for children to highlight his incredible gifts as both an artist and inventor.
