As a parent the book would not be fair as to read and judge the book by its cover. But when the true interviewer is the child who reads it. My son is 12 yrs. and really digs into the book cover to cover and immediately can not put it down . He enjoys it tremendously even over his video games. Every parent knows what I am talking about.
I like the idea of the journal concept. Drawings, etc.

I originally picked up this book Christmas morning, when another family member received it as a gift. I couldn't put it down!
The way it is written is through the eyes of a young boy stuck in the middle of being a "kid" and being a "teen". His perspective on such things as work, money and girls are approached with a whimsical and humorous eye.
Jeff Kinney seems to have a great sense of what it's like inside the mind of restless youth that still has it's wonderful innocence. Well done, easy read, no matter if you are young or old!
