Adventures In Cartooning

Aspiring artists and writers, comic books fans, get ready for Adventures in Cartooning! Jump headfirst into the wild and wacky world of cartooning with a headstrong knight, a cowardly horse and a magic elf who set off to rescue a princess, slay a dragon and learn a thing or two about making comics. (Spoiler alert: By the end of this book, the characters learn everything they need to know to create their own happily-ever-after—and you will, too!) This is not your typical comic book. As the story unfolds, panel by panel, mini-lessons illustrate how you can transform your doodles into grand adventures. It’s a fantastic introduction to the art of storytelling for the next generation of great graphic novelists! (Ages 9-12)

Good Choice for a 10-year-old!
May 29, 2009

The book Adventures in Cartooning was purchased for my 10-year-old grandson, who has been interested in drawing for a number of years. He especially enjoys the series "A Wimpy Kid..." I made some blank cartoon boxes in various sizes and gave them to him with the book. He read all of it carefully on a recent visit, and he decided to make a journal of his trip in cartoon format. He found the book helpful -- and fun. Thanks!
